Kathy is an Associate within the real estate team at Norton Rose Fulbright Australia. She has over 7 years’ of experience in property law, currently with particular focus on projects and developments matters. Kathy predominantly advises private sector developers, vendors and purchasers in relation to a range of flat land and strata-titled developments, sale and acquisition of residential and commercial development sites, negotiation of put and call options, dealing with development management agreements, preparation of pre-sale contract and statutory disclosure documents, strata body corporate related matters and legal due diligence.

In her previous roles working in private practices, Kathy advised corporate clients and State government departments in property matters such as acquisition and sale of residential and commercial site transactions and legal due diligence. She was part of Property Council of Australia’s 500 Women In Property program in 2019.

In additional to her local Australian experience in property law, Kathy has also had overseas experience working in Hong Kong for 3 years in commercial law and in banking and insolvency litigation. Furthermore, Kathy gained some diverse and interesting experience by working as a Trainee Registrar in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for 9 months before she made the move to Hong Kong.

Kathy was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Hong Kong and Brisbane. She speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin. Kathy is passionate in promoting CALD diversity in the legal profession especially in higher ranks. She hopes to bring greater awareness of CALD diversity in the legal profession and, through her involvement in the AALA, help in growing the platform for law students and lawyers from a CALD background to come together.

Outside of law, Kathy likes to do pilates, going to the gym and going to theatre performances.
