Michael is a barrister at Fullagar Chambers in Brisbane who has a broad general practice in commercial litigation, property disputes, defamation claims, personal injury claims, family law matters, and administrative appeals. He appears in both federal and state courts and provides advice for matters in both jurisdictions. He also acts on behalf of clients as a legal representative or as the mediator in mediations.

Michael studied journalism and arts before turning to law. He holds bachelor and master degrees in law and before being called to the Bar he worked as a solicitor in commercial dispute resolution and litigation at firms in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Michael comes from a mixed cultural background and is equally proud of his Australian and Japanese heritages. Michael speaks both English and Japanese natively. He is passionate about cultural diversity in the legal profession and society generally and hopes to one day see more Asian-Australians in senior leadership positions in law firms, at the Bar and in the judiciary.
