QLD Branch Committee Member

VIOLET LI

Violet is a commercial litigation solicitor based in Brisbane and Gold Coast. She has a Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management from Beijing International Studies University and the University of Queensland, and a Juris Doctor (First Class Distinction) from Bond University. She was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland in June 2020 and in the High Court of Australia in April 2021.

During her time at Bond University, Violet served as the Vice President of the Bond Asian Law Students’ Society, assisted with the promotion of cultural diversity on campus and hosted various events designed for students of Asian heritage and international students.

Violet speaks fluent Mandarin as her mother tongue and basic Cantonese. She hopes that, as a committee member of the AALA, she would be able to help more future lawyers and advocate for the Asian-Australian community in the legal industry.

Outside of work, Violet is also an active member of the Young ICCA, CIArb, AILA, and HKIAC.

The Asian Australian Lawyers Association (AALA) offers our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the true and traditional owners and custodians of the lands we gather on to live, work and learn.

AALA acknowledges the past and continuing trauma caused by mistreatment and displacement. AALA celebrates and shares in the respect for elders, land and community and continues to advocate for intersectional diversity and the empowerment of all first nations peoples worldwide.
